Voice of VRS – ROUND 1!

Vandy students, it’s time for you to decide – Who is the Voice of VRS?

HERE’s HOW TO VOTE: remember, you’ll be entered for a chance to win FREE Vandy merch!

  1. Listen to all song submissions below. You can listen directly on this website.
  2. Vote HERE by April 1st, 2026 at 11:59PM. You must login with your Vanderbilt email. You may only vote once. You will rank your top four songs, in order.

Voices of VRS is the second annual competition of its kind, this time co-hosted by Vandy Radio. Here’s how it will go:

  • SUBMISSIONS ARE CLOSED.
  • Round 1 includes online voting by listeners who hear your song. Your song will be featured on VRS social media, Vandy Radio, and more. Four (4) contestants will qualify. Voting occurs from March 25th, 2026 through April 1st.
  • Round 2 will be hosted during Vandy Radio’s Live Show on the Rand Patio on April 7th, 2026. The four (4) contestants who qualified will perform their submitted song live. Live voting results will determine the winner and Voice of VRS!

What’s in it for you?

  • Become the VOICE of VRS!
  • Your song will receive plenty of exposure on several Vanderbilt Student Communications platforms and on campus.
  • 5 hours of studio time at Welcome to 1979, a professional recording studio in Music Row.

Who can compete?

  • Current undergraduate students at Vanderbilt University
  • Solo artists or bands are welcome
  • Vocalists or instrumentalists are welcome
  • You must have a recorded version of your song upon initial submission for Round 1, and a live version (if selected) for Round 2.
