RVU Cover Competition voting is now closed!
The RVU Cover Competition entries were recorded in the RVU studio over a period of three days, and are now available here and on our SoundCloud! Listen to the songs and then vote for your favorite…the winner will receive $100 to Guitar Center and five free hours of recording time!

This contest must be flawed. Does it allow one person to vote 150 times for themselves or something? Clearly, the votes are not based on singing talent. Some with good voices got no votes; the one with far and away the best voice got votes but wasn’t close to winning, and the clear winner in votes was just OK.
I should have added that ALL who participated should be congratulated, not only for the generally high level of talent, but for the courage to perform and put themselves out there– great job, all!
Thanks for your thoughts, D. Perkins. We spent a fair amount of time considering different selection processes; unfortunately, there is no clearly objective way of selecting a winner of the contest. We considered having a private selection by the executive staff of RVU Records, but even that would not be guaranteed to produce the best outcome in every person’s mind. Voting in this manner encourages people to see what RVU Records is all about and provides a lot of publicity for the cover songs and the artists. The best way to show your support for the cover that you think is best is to 1) vote for it, and 2) persuade as many other people as possible to vote for it. Again, we appreciate your support and hope you will continue to follow what we’re doing here at RVU Records!
